J.K. Marlin lives in a cottage across the street from Lake Erie with her gentle husband and brilliant dog. She also loves gardening, art, music, and searching out tid-bits of history.
Marlin set out from seminary to write historical biblical plays for churches. Contemporary Drama Service in Colorado Springs published four of her one act plays, then suggested a musical which they also published: Ruth the Love Story.
She spent her career scripting plays and musicals, and collaborating with other creative minds through all the various aspects of play production.

Julie now writes a serial story taking a speculative time traveler, Lazarus, chronologically through the history of Christianity on a quest to find the love thread, left dangling from the Jesus message. (This story is posted in segments, three times a week at https://lazarus-ink.blog)

Over these seven years of the Lazarus saga, human issues arise that call for more time and care than brief blog posts. One was the issue of childhood grief; so Julie wrote a novella, a journal voiced as one of the children of the time traveler Lazarus — How Still Waters Run. This was a free pdf posted and available through a footnote in March 2023 blog posts. It was downloaded more times than the blog has followers. Go figure?
Marlin is at work on a new spin-off from the saga, digging up the ancient Roman roots of Christian anti-Semitism. Stay tuned.
